O's Take Game 3 and Series From Jays

Good evening O's fans. The O's given the opportunity to erase a terrible memory from last night did just that tonight beating the Jays 6-1 and winning the three game series.

Miguel Gonzales was the key tonight. He was awesome. He was given an early lead and was able to pitch 7 2/3 innings only giving up one run.  He has been so consistent for the O's. He comes out every outing and just pounds the strike zone. He did have a very rare bad outing in his last start against the Yankees but quickly fixed that tonight.

The O's spotted Miguel a five run lead as they crossed the plate five times in the second inning.  Aaron Sanchez walked Davis and Hardy to start the inning. David Lough then sacrificed them over.  Caleb Joseph then doubled driving both runners in. Ray Navarro then grounded out to advance Caleb to third. The O's then got three consecutive two out hits. Machado and DeAza doubled and Jimmy Paredes singled to make it 5-0.   The Jays put runners on second and third with no out in the third but Gonzales worked his way out of it. That was huge as the O's had just put up the five spot.   Ray Navarro hit a lead off homer in the eighth to give the O's a 6-1 lead. The Jays got their only run in the top of the eighth on a pass ball that Caleb just could not come up with.

This was a big win tonight taking the series and going into the off day tomorrow. The O's need to start stringing together wins. Winning series is important but they could use a nice winning streak.  They just seem to never be able to put a long streak together.  Winning series though is the key. Let's see if the O's can build on this win with the Angels coming into town this weekend. Should be a beautiful weekend at the Yard. Let's go O's!!!
