O's Drop Game One to Halos

Good morning O's fans. It was not a good night at the yard last night besides the beautiful weather as the O's dropped game one to the Angels 3-1.

Jared Weaver kept the O's hitters off balance all night with 64 mph curve balls and 82 mph fastballs. They just could not solve him.  The O's got a great pitching performance fron Wei Yen Chen as he only gave up two early runs through seven innings. The O's have given him no support so far this year as Chen has pitched to a just over 2.50 era but has one win to show for it.

The O's just continue this display of inconsistent baseball this year. They just can't seem to put wins together. They hit one night and don't pitch. They pitch one night and don't hit. They just can't seem to put everything together for a period of time. Some of that could be the injury factor and the inconsistent lineups. The only good thing is the whole American league East is kind of mediocre as 4.5 games separates first place from last place. The O's need to start playing better baseball though as they can not afford to dig a deep hole to climb out of.

The O's were scheduled to send Bud Norris to the mound tonight but he is battling a illness. Ubaldo Jimenez could start in his place.  I think Bud could see the bullpen in his future. Kevin Gausman is going to be in this rotation soon.  We will see what happens tonight as the O's need this one to have a chance at winning the series with the Angels. Let's go O's.
